The Fausto zipped Bordeaux is inspired by an old cycling jersey that wrote the most beautiful pages in the history of cycling.
Fausto COPPI will forever remain one of the greatest champions in the fabulous history of world cycling.
As early as 1945 he wore the old BIANCHI cycling jersey for more than 10 years and inspired Palmarès to create LE FAUSTO BORDEAUX: his famous sky blue BIANCHI jersey with a wide white stripe on the chest where the name of the sponsor (the famous Italian cycling brand BIANCHI) was printed had a round collar with a zipper and a two and two-coloured edging at the ends of the short sleeves.
To honour Fausto COPPI and all his prestigious victories, he created the FAUSTO BORDEAUX by replacing the sky blue colour with bordeaux (the wine colour he liked) and white with indigo blue.
With his mythical jersey, he accomplished his greatest feats and offers us one of the most beautiful palmares of world cycling: 2 Tour de France - 5 Tour of Italy or Giro de Italia - 9 stages of the Tour de France - 22 stages of the Tour of Italy - 3 Milan San Remo - 1 Paris-Roubaix - 5 Tour of Lombardy - 1 Walloon Arrow - 1 Road World Championship and 4 Italian Road Championships.
He also brought to cycling the beauty of his cut on his bike and his method of preparation.
In order to produce Made in France (MIF) we have chosen for LE FAUSTO BORDEAUX a third generation, century-old factory, labelled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) and located in the Atlantic Pyrenees.
Thus, our FAUSTO jersey contributes to the preservation of local know-how and employment in our territory.
The 100% jersey cotton knit woven by our factory has a very soft and pleasant touch in contact with the skin.
The FAUSTO jersey with a 210g/m2 cotton mesh will even be very comfortable for mid-season.
The round collar and the short sleeve ends with two-coloured ribbed cuffs are pure replicas of the finishes of old cycling jerseys and give the FAUSTO jersey a sporty chic look.
The sangria-coloured chart of honour embroidery on the central indigo band is made in chain stitch (17000 stitches) and gives the FAUSTO jersey an original cachet.
The embroidery of the award emblem on the sleeve and on the back embellish the authenticity of the piece.
