The CARACTERE sweater is inspired by the old cycling first jerseys of the beginning of the 20th century.
The Tour de France created in 1903 by the newspaper l'Auto, the ancestor of the newspaper L'Equipe, enabled cycling to achieve sporting and worldwide renown. The pioneers of the Tour de France with the prestigious names GARIN LAPIZE FABER wore woollen sweaters as jerseys.
These legendary sweaters with a chimney collar, chest pocket and two back pockets (the three pockets contained keys, equipment and supplies) are imbued with their exploits and characters as they completed climbs of mythical passes(Tourmalet, Galibier, Izoard) and stages of the Tour de France of more than 300 kilometres.
In its approach of respect for the environment and Made In France (MIF), Palmarès favours the circular economy in short circuits: this CHARACTERY sweater in 100% recycled wool is made in France.
Completely knitted and shaped in the south of the Tarn by a factory (label Origine France Garantie) which uses as raw material recycled wool from a spinning mill (label Origine France Garantie) located less than 20 km away.
Recycled wool made of 70% wool, 25% acrylic and 5% other fibres gives an authentic and patinated look to the CHARACTERY sweater.
The chimney collar that you can always leave closed when putting it on and taking it off gives you the warmth of a turtleneck that doesn't tighten your neck too much and is very pleasant in winter weather.
This turtleneck can be worn open which gives it a more casual look.
The chest pocket with its edging, stitching, button and brown interior color identical to the collar gives an original design and allows the CHARACTERE sweater to bring a new trend to men's fashion: "vintage cycling jerseys" fashion.
The two back buttoned pockets, well sewn and plated, give a "cycling fashion" authenticity that will not leave anyone indifferent on your way.
