Lucho Herrera: first Colombian stage winner of the Tour de France (Alpe d'Huez 1984)
Raphael Geminiani, was a runner, sports director, consultant for the post-war 1945 television until the 2000s.
During our initial meeting to associate him with the PALMARÈS adventure he told us many stories and legends.

He was an excellent climber so much so that he won 3 great mountain prizes on the Grand Tours: Tour 1951, Giro 1952 and 1957; These years the great climbers were numerous Robic, Bartali, Coppi, Koblet and Bobbet.
Raphael Géminiani: "Journalists never classified me as a climber, although I was the best climber in the Grands Tours and with some great climbers in those years. I won the Grand Prix de la Montagne of the Tour 1951 and the Giros 1952 and 1957; in those years there were many great climbers like Robic, Bartali, Coppi, Koblet and Bobbet."

Raphael Géminiani: "Herrera! Lucho, when he was leaving we never saw him again, in fact when he started he made the difference, then he widened the gap and we never saw him again, it was impressive and he really marked me the most ".
Raphael Géminiani was the sports director in 1986 of the Jardinerito in Fusagasuga: it was the arrival of the Colombian riders in the concert of international cycling and especially of the Tour de France.
Lucho Herrera was the pioneer of Colombian cycling with notably the first Colombian stage victory in the Tour de France: it was in 1984 on one of the most mythical stage finishes L'Alpe D'Huez it was July 16, 1984; a historic date for Colombian and world cycling.

Lucho Herrera was also the first Colombian rider to win a Grand Tour: the Vuelta or Tour of Spain 1987.
Lucho Herrera is the idol of all Colombia and has generated some very good Colombian climbers : Parra, Botero, Uran, Quintana, Henao, Bernal ....
